St Louis was born in Brittany, France and was ordained a priest at the age of 27. He devoted his life to the poor and those who were sick. He had a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Rosary and wrote a book called “The Secret of the Rosary”, which is still the prayer used today. In 1712, he founded the Company of Mary, an association of missionary priests who shared his ideas. He became unwell and died in 1716.

Almighty God,
As we reflect on St Louis de Montfort,
we give thanks for his life as a priest
and his writings on the faith.
We pray that we can develop, like him,
our relationship with you through the
intercession of Mary.
We ask this through Christ your Son Our Lord.
Amen.
