Saint Hilary was Bishop of Poitiers in 350, although he wasn’t raised a Christian he became one after long periods of study. He fought against Arianism and then was exiled. His works were to the point but full of wisdom, aimed at strengthening the Catholic faith. He was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1851 by Pope Pius IX.

we give thanks for all that he did in order
to strengthen the Catholic faith
through his works.
We pray that his writings influence our own faith,
as we continue to follow you.
