St Anselm was born in Italy, he become a monk in Normandy and it was there where he taught theology. He became Abbott at Bec and went on to become the Archbishop of Canterbury after his master Lanfranc died. He was well know for organising church life in England and his many theological writings. St Anselm died in 1109.

Dear Lord,

as we reflect on St Anselm today,

we give thanks for his work as

an Abbott and Archbishop of Canterbury.

May St Anselm inspire us through

his teachings of theology and let us look to him

as an example, spreading the Gospel message

to those around us.

We make this prayer through Christ, Your Son, Our Lord.

Amen

St Anselm… Pray for us.
