WORLD YOUTH DAY

LISBON 2023

Welcome to our World Youth Day page! We are getting ready to join the thousands of young pilgrims from England and Wales to walk, pray and listen to them during their time of pilgrimage. On this page you will find out which dioceses are taking part and how you can get in touch with them about attending and registration. We will post updates on where you can find us over the World Youth Day week and we will  begin to share resources in order to help with your own personal discernment on the lead up to and throughout the Pilgrimage.

When: 1st - 6th August 2023 

Locations: The locations of events taking place in the city of Lisbon (Portugal) over the World Youth Day week.

Registration: This can be done through your Diocesan Youth Service, Religious Community or organisation you are travelling with.

Our Schedule of Events

The schedule of World Youth Day events including locations is below. We have organised set days to walk to Catechesis with Diocesean Youth Groups from England and Wales and will be accompanying young people, discussing Encounter, Discipleship and Mission, linking this to vocation. 

We will be at the Vocation Fair (Belem Front) at various times, just look out for us with the red NOV hoodies or polo shirts.

Vocation Directors and Clergy 

Taking Pilgrimage with your Diocese to World Youth Day? Don't forget these top tips:

  • Don't forget to book with your Diocese!

  • Remember to register as Priest/Clergy on your registration with your Diocese. 

  • Remember your albs and stole.

  • Remember your celebret for mass and to hear confession.  

NOV at World Youth Day 

The National Office for Vocation will be attending World Youth Day!

We will be there everyday to walk with the young people in each Diocese in England and Wales. If you are Diocese or organisation taking pilgrimage to Lisbon, and interested in inviting us to walk and talk with your group, please contact us by email (vocation.enquiries@cbcew.org.uk) or submitting your details on our website contact form.

 

We will also be there to have one to one talks with your young people about the culture of vocation helping them with their own discipleship journey and discernment.
