On Saturday 11th March, around 10,000 people filled Wembley Arena for Flame 2017, a great celebration of the Catholic Church for youth. It was the third of its kind following popular demand after Flame 2012 and 2015. The spirituality and enthusiasm from the young people who attended was witnessed in the joyful singing along to the music of Matt Redman, the quiet listening to witness stories, reverential prayer and a Mexican wave encircling Wembley Arena.

Among the wealth of well-received talks and colourful presentations, Cardinal Vincent urged the young people to feed into planning for the 2018 Synod of Bishops on ‘Youth, faith and vocational discernment’.
