If you think you would value some time out from your daily lifestyle in an environment where you can focus on and deepen your relationship with God, then perhaps you would like to consider going on a retreat. Please take a look at the following list of retreats taking place over the next few weeks: www.ukreligiouslife.org/events.
Starting on Friday 21st October from 6-9pm at St. Winefride’s Church in Wibsey, Leeds Diocese are going to have 3 hours of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in a different church in the diocese each month. It’s a beautiful opportunity to pray that the Lord will send some new priests and also to pray for the present ones. You are welcome to go along for as much or as little time as you like! For any questions please contact Fr. Michael Doody on 01274 677992 firstname.lastname@example.org.
Niall, a seminarian for the Diocese of Portsmouth, tells us his vocation story in this short video. When Niall started to feel the pull to the priesthood he initially put it to one side thinking it’d pass. But the feeling kept growing and growing. “I had a chat with a priest and he said ‘I’m sorry Niall, but I think you need to take this seriously and see where the Lord leads you’. The Lord never leads you down a dead end. No matter where He leads you it’ll always be fruitful.” Niall is now three years into his seven-year formation process.
It’s the month of September which means discernment groups are beginning to start up for young adults thinking about their vocation. Are you at a crossroads in your life? If so, having the support from a discernment group and friendship with other young people who are discerning their vocation can give you the focus and direction you need. Take a look at the following list of groups taking place throughout England and Wales: http://www.ukvocation.org/?page_id=301
Vacations – ’empty’ times – are a chance to be less busy with daily life and more busy with prayer life. Why not spend some time with God asking for guidance as to what kind of life He has planned for you to lead?
